Questions & Answers About Photos

USFA Summer Nationals page.
Why don't you have all of the medalist ceremony photos?
Due to an unexpected cancellation of another photographer, we were asked to
photograph Summer Nationals. We only began shooting on the second day, and we
arranged for [mostly] local photographers to work with us. Unfortunately, since
we organized this only at such a late time, we could not guarantee that all
medalist ceremonies would be covered. We shot as many as we could. We sincerely
apologize if your medal ceremony was not photographed. Here are the events we
covered:
Men's Epee
Div I, Wheelchair, SR Team, U19, Y10, Y12, DIA, U19 Team, V40, V50, V60, DV3, DV2
Men's Foil
U19 Team, Y12, U16, DV3, DV2, DIA, V40, V50, V60
Men's Sabre
Y14, DVI, Y10, Y12, DV2, SR Team, DIA, DV3, V40, V50, V60
Women's Epee
DVI, U16, Y10, SR Team, Y12, DIA, DV2, V40, V50, V60
Women's Foil
Y10, U19, Y12, SR Team, Y14, DIA, V40, DV3
Women's Sabre
U16, Y10, U19, U19 Team, Y12, DIA, DV3, V40, V50, DV2
Why are there more photos in some galleries than in others?
Because we used several local photographers, they took different stylistic
approaches to shooting the ceremonies. While we gave them basic direction on
short notice, normally we would have trained them for a day before shooting
which would have resulted in more consistent images.
Why were there no portraits or "strip shoots" available?
By far, our largest request is
for medal ceremonies and this was our biggest priority. A few individuals wanted
portraits or action shots, and we accommodated them as best we could. This will
be addressed more clearly in the future if we shoot a national U.S. event again
and we have time to prepare for it.
I ordered a portrait and/or action shoot online before nationals. Why
didn't I get it?
The photography vendor who was previously scheduled to be at Nationals had
to cancel just before the event began, and they were responsible for these
reservations. We had no record of them, but as best we could we did work with
people who came up to us and told about their reservation. We apologize if you
had a reservation and it was not fulfilled.
Who were the photographers?
Ana Adams, a local Miami freelancer, was our primary photographer. She was
guided by Serge Timacheff, the official International Fencing Federation (FIE)
photographer and president of FencingPhotos.com, who also shot a few ceremonies.
John Bone, a junior fencer from Houston, Texas and a photography enthusiast,
helped at the beginning to get things going until we confirmed that Ana could be
there. Tiffany Stennett, also a local Miami photographer, worked with us on the
last day. Thanks to all for their hard work.
How do I view the galleries?
You can
click here, or you can link from the previous US Nationals Photo
page. You can also access it by clicking "view and shop" on the menu, and then
selecting the first option. This takes you to all of FencingPhotos.com
galleries, and the USFA Summer Nationals gallery is listed there.
What is your pricing for photos, and what is available?
Our pricing is very competitive, and photo prints are delivered in 100-year
archival quality. You can select from a variety of print types (matte, glossy,
pro-lustre), black & white or sepia images, and metallic papers. Print sizes
vary from 4x6 to 40 x 60, and other products such as t-shirts, coffee mugs,
mouse pads, digital downloads, calendars, musem-mounted canvas, and more.
What about digital copies of my photos?
You can buy your photos as high-resolution digital images, and, yes, you can
print them yourself at home or take them to a commercial lab such as Costco,
Wal-Mart, or another photo service. You may not, however, sell the images, or
use them for commercial purposes without the express permission of
FencingPhotos.com and the photographer. The image copyrights are retained by
FencingPhotos.com and/or the respective photographer.
Can you touch-up and edit photos or add text to them?
Yes, we offer additional services for photographs if
you want to add text or logos from Summer Nationals, or if you would like a
photo enhanced (cropped, changed, touched-up, etc.). Please contact us directly
(see "contact
us" page) for more pricing, options,
and more information.
How long does it take to get photos?
Normally about a week or so after you order them online.
How do I know the quality will be good?
We guarantee our photos and products 100 percent. If you are not satisfied
for any reason, we will replace or refund your order.
